Neuropsychological Testing

Neuropsychology looks at how the health of a person’s brain affects his or her thinking skills and behavior.  Neuropsychological tests are specifically designed tasks used to measure a psychological function known to be linked to a particular brain structure or pathway. They usually involve the systematic administration of clearly defined procedures in a formal environment. Neuropsychological tests are typically administered to a single person, working with an examiner in a quiet office environment, free from distractions. Neuropsychological tests are a core component of the process of conducting a neuropsychological assessment. Our practice conducts comprehensive clinical neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Our testing program assesses a variety of cognitive functions. Testing can be helpful in approaching an array of difficulties, including:

Attention issues
Academic difficulties
Learning disabilities
Social and communication issues
Emotional or behavioral concerns
Autism Spectrum disorders
Genetic disorders
Head injury or stroke
Difficulty with memory
Dementia
Psychiatric issues
Substance abuse
